Ibride
Ibride is a trio of creativity starting with Benoît Convers, the designer, along with Rachel Convers, the graphic artist, and Carine Jasmin, the editor and marketing expert. They garner their strength from collusion, individual expertise, and creative explosion. Their complicity has allowed them to forge a professional identity in their own image. Their workshop is located in a remote and wooded area of France, La Vèze. The beauty and primal freedom of their surroundings are mimicked in the organic pieces they produce.
The polyvalence of the objects agrees with their organic roots. Whether on a wall or under a teapot, the trays speak to personality and life beyond their original intent.
Here is how the Ibride threesome describes their throwback trays: “Our objective was to give them a second purpose when the trays were not in use. We used painting archetypes: laced edges and portraiture. The faces are Indian, Indonesian, or Black. We want them to be hung up to remind us of times when our ancestors’ portraits watched over us from living room or kitchen walls.”
