We normally put on a jacket to keep ourselves warm, but Menu has designed a jacket to keep your wine bottles cold. The design firm Menu has a knack for turning things upside down. This new wine jacket is the perfect example, as it is not designed to warm the bottle but to keep your wine fresh and cool – and it’s much easier to manage than traditional wine coolers filled with ice.
The jacket consists of two layers of fabric and a removable lining that contains cooling gel. Once the cooling gel lining has been chilled in the freezer, place the jacket on the bottle and in 15 minutes the wine’s temperature will drop by about 10 C. The jacket keeps wine cool for more than one hour – long enough for you to finish your meal or enjoy a cool bottle of summertime wine outdoors with friends.
“Cool Coat has style, but it's also meant to be used with a glint in the eye”, says designer Jakob Wagner. “The jacket can be adjusted to fit the size of any wine bottle, and the collar can be adjusted to give the jacket one's own personal touch”. A good bottle of wine is always a popular gift. With a Cool Coat, your wine gift package is sure to never be forgotten.
